We’re waiting for our new education reporter to start, so in the meantime I got to write about the first day of school for some Florida kids yesterday.
The paywall won’t let you read my full story, but there was lots of color. Here’s my lead:
Thomas Gilhooly ordered seven chicken nuggets for lunch Thursday at the cafeteria in Estero High School.
The lunch lady gave him just two packets of ketchup.
“And that was the worst part of my day,” said the 17-year-old senior, who otherwise enjoyed his last first day of high school.
