My centerpiece story today is about a small diner called Young’s Country Restaurant that is closing its doors after 68 years.
The people I talked to were so friendly that I found myself almost as sad as they were to see the place closing. The regulars stop daily and sometimes twice a day to grab food and talk with friends. It’s a gathering place for them, and they’re worried about how they’re going to stay in touch after it closes this weekend.
I plan to follow up with these folks in a few months to see how they’ve handled the change. I hope they find a new hangout.
